Simple and Easy Ways to Prepare Your Skin for Spring


Even though winter may be a wonderful time for drinking hot cocoa, eating gingerbread cookies, and watching movies with friends and family, our skin suffers. Cold air, wind, and lack of sun make our skin flakey and cracked, not to mention dry and itchy. With warm spring just around the corner, you will want your skin to be smooth and soft again, and we have a few simple tricks which will help your skin become just that.

Don’t exfoliate as often

You should use a gentle cleanser every day before you go to bed; it helps your skin breathe and keeps it soft. Still, you shouldn’t forget to exfoliate approximately once a week, especially as spring approaches. During winter, our skin is dry and flakey, and by exfoliating we remove those flakes and dead skin cells, allowing the ‘young’ skin to breathe. Try a brightening mask

You can add a simple homemade brightening mask to your nighttime skincare routine, because it will stimulate circulation and give your face that natural, warm, rosy glow. Make a simple mask out of natural orange juice and baking soda: in a cup or a bowl put a tablespoon of orange juice and a tablespoon of baking soda, and mix them until you get a smooth paste (feel free to add more baking soda if you want it to be thicker). Choose a lighter moisturizer
